Names and pictures of students from Blue Mountain, Chalybeate, Falkner, Pine Grove, Ripley and Walnut have been in the news throughout the school year for everything from honor rolls to turning in outstanding performances at various academic competitions.
Many of the competitions usually occur annually about this time of year. Some of the youngsters are new to these events, others are regular attendees. Year in and year out however, the faces may change but the results don’t: These students represent Tippah County well.
The students aren’t the only ones who deserve recognition. Their parents, instructors, and school administrators -- all of whom helped them get where they are -- also deserve to share in their success.
Perhaps even some employers can share in the recognition – working with the youngsters to give them time to study, prepare for the various competitions, and providing flexible hours that allow students the time to compete.
These students represent some of this area’s best and brightest – the ones who show up regularly in the honor rolls, and not the court records.
Expect to continue to hear more good things about these young people, not only at future academic competitions, but in later life for years to come.
