Vance averaged 20.1 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.1 steals for the Tigers and helped them to a 21-8 overall finish and an 8-2 record in Division 1-3A. In 12 division games, Vance scored 20 or more points in six of them, including two games with over 30 points.
Vance scored a season high 32 points in a two-point loss to Baldwyn and recorded his lone double-double performance came Jan. 15 against Alcorn Central when he scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Guard Tyyon Rutherford was also the only other Tiger to be named to the first team. Rutherford, who led the Tigers in 3-point shooting at just under 40 percent, averaged 18.4 points and six rebounds per game.
Despite not being able to play until Christmas, Rashaun Williamson did well enough to be named to the division’s third team. Williamson averaged 12.3 points and 4.3 assists.
Also, Craig Chunn, the Tigers best post player this season was listed as an Honorable Mention. Chunn led the Tigers in rebounds with
6.2 per game.
