Said Miller; “The Easter Egg Hunt just gets better every year. There is a wonderful crew of volunteers that makes it one of our largest annual events. It’s a time parents and children all look forward to.”
The event begins with registration from 9-9:50 a.m. at the pavilion. The fee per child is $2. Every child participating is required to register by age. The event is for children through age 10. All age groups have assigned leaders who guide the children to adjacent school athletic fields where over 5,000 eggs are hidden. All eggs have candy and coins inside and have been hand-filled by groups of Senior Citizens at Ripley Park and Recreation. Some eggs have prize tickets for larger prizes.
Miller also announced Saturday, May 15 as the date for the annual Spring Fling Festival. May 15 is also the date scheduled for Tippah County’s participation in the “Great American Clean-up” event.
Miller said that Ripley Main Street will sponsor a new event this year. On Sunday, April 11, the Association will host a Tea Pageant for the revival of the Tippah County Miss Hospitality title. Selection will be made by interview at 2 p.m. at the Peoples Bank Community Room at the Operations Center. For more information contact Kelly Brewer at 587-7500, or Craig Miller at 512-0226.
