RIPLEY – The Tippah County Electric Power Association will meet Thursday to finalize plans for a new election for board members because the first ballot contained errors.

A previously announced plan to use corrected ballots mailed over the weekend also has been scrapped, said TEPA attorney Brad Dillard.

Rather, he said, the board is expected to approve a plan for an entirely new election with new deadlines for mailing in votes.

“The idea is to scrap the first two sets of ballots, reset the deadlines and wait a week or two to resend a corrected ballot to all members with envelopes, stickers and pre-addressed envelopes,” Dillard said. “These will be mailed to all eligible voters.”

Sure hope the 3rd ballots are going to be POSTAGE PAID since we already paid to mail the first ones in. It's not our fault the ballots were messed up "twice". Maybe someone will get their act together on the third try.
