UPDATE: Two dead in New Albany accident

A three car accident on County Road 81 in Union County near the city limits of New Albany, left two dead and three injured. The wreck occurred around 5:10 p.m.

Authorities reported a 2005 Ford F-250 driven by Justin Allen Nance, 20, of Blue Mountain, was Southbound on County Road 81 when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided into a 2003 Nissian Sentra, driven by Mary S. Kennamore, 43, of Blue Mountain and then overturned and collided with a 1989 Ford Crown Vic, driven by Louise Cattaneo, 40, of Blue Mountain.

Nance and Kennamore were both pronounced dead at the scene. Nance was not wearing a seat belt.

Cattaneo was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany and treated for lacerations to the head.

Passengers in the Ford F250 were Matthew Barnes, 22, of Faulkner, and a 2 year old toddler. The toddler was transported, treated and released with minor injuries at Baptist Memorial Union County in New Albany. Barnes was being treated at Baptist Memorial Union County in New Albany.

Cattaneo, Barnes and the toddler all were restrained.

The accident is under investigation by the New Albany Police Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
