Turner is new Ripley police officer

Kenny Turner was hired as a Ripley police officer recently at a special meeting of the Ripley Board of Aldermen.

Turner is a part-time deputy with the Tippah County Sheriff's Department He will keep that job along with being a full time police officer, he said.

He begins work for the city immediately, Ripley Police Chief Scott White said.

He replaces Johnny Cole, who recently resigned.

Said Chief White: "We look forward to having officer Turner join the force"

Turner is a veteran law enforcement official He has worked for the Tippah and Benton County sheriff's departments, and has also worked for the Walnut Police Department.
