Ripley police narcotics officer Ken Walker resigned by letter effective Monday, Ripely Police Chief Scott White said Tuesday morning.

Walker resigned for personal reasons which his letter did not specify. He had worked for the city for about six years.

Said Chief White: "We appreciate the job Officer Walker did and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Chief White said he did not know Walker's future plans.

Efforts to reach Walker for comments this week weren't successful.

The chief said he will ask the Board of Aldermen at their next meeting to advertise for a a replacement officer.
